During our third week of our four-lesson series titled “The Controversial Jesus,” we examined a time when Jesus referred to a group of religious leaders as “whitewashed tombs."
This lesson helped us see the importance of being sure that our hearts and actions match up. We cannot claim to be a follower of Christ and then live a life that contradicts who we say we are. This sometimes happens in teen friendships, where someone will seem to be a friend, but it turns out they were never really a teenager’s friend in the first place. It’s a tough topic to address when it happens, but we pray that this lesson helps prepare our students for those moments.
