Don't Judge // Matthew 7:1-6Dear parents,
We’re continuing our four-lesson study on the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5–7. Jesus spoke these lessons to a bunch of people nearly 2,000 years ago, but the truths he spoke remain relevant and important to our lives today. Jesus delivered bold truth about how to engage these life issues, and he practically addressed how to handle them. This week we looked at Jesus’ teaching on how to deal with judging, based on Scripture from both Matthew 7 and Luke 6. Through this lesson our students discussed how judgment is certainly easy and sometimes fun, but Jesus calls us toward another way. We challenged our teenagers to pursue humility through self-examination, forgiveness, and blessing. As you go throughout the week, help reinforce this teaching in your child’s life by asking these kinds of questions as you have the opportunity:
