The Sower and the SeedDear parents,
We're in our second week of a three-lesson series on parables. We had a great study this week on the parable of the sower and the seed found in Matthew 13. Our discussion focused on knowing that God wants us to live a fruitful life, and we talked about specific ways we can encourage growth in our faith. Students are surrounded with objects that desire to take their attention off growing their faith, but they need to rely on God to build their roots. As you go throughout the week, help reinforce this teaching in your teenager’s life by asking these kinds of questions as you have the opportunity:
Have a great week! NEXT WEEK | The Rich Fool (Luke 12:13-21) The Workers in the VineyardDear parents,
We are continuing our study "Year with Jesus" discussing parables. Yesterday we covered the parable about workers in the vineyard found in Matthew 20:1-16. We challenged our students to see that God’s grace is a gift and that none of us can do anything worthy of deserving this gift. We saw how God desires for us to participate in sharing this gift with those around us. God wants us to focus less on ourselves and more on the work that needs to be done. As you go throughout the week, I encourage you to keep the conversation going at home by asking your teenager the following questions as you have the chance:
Also, the Christmas Project mentioned by Tim Sunday morning is available HERE. Have a blessed week and Merry Christmas! NEXT WEEK | The Sower and the Seed (Matthew 13:1-23) The Unforgiving ServantDear parents,
We wrapped up a three-lesson series on parables by looking at the parable of the unforgiving servant. This parable is found in Matthew 18 and is a powerful reminder of how God deeply wants us to forgive others. We live in a culture that tries to convince us that we offer forgiveness only after getting revenge. In this lesson, we looked at how God’s desire for us in forgiving is more about realizing how much he has forgiven us of—and realizing we need to practice the art of forgiveness toward others. As you go throughout the week, help reinforce our group’s conversation in your child’s life by asking the following questions as you have the opportunity:
Have an awesome week! Next Week | Workers in the Vineyard (Matthew 20:1-16)
The Wise & Foolish BuildersDear parents,
As we continue through our series on three awesome parables that Jesus taught, we turned our attention this week to the parable of the wise builder and the foolish builder in Matthew 7. We talked about how Jesus’ words require action on our part to prepare for the storms of life. There’s nothing we can do to avoid some storms, but we must be prepared to face them when they come. Our students also discussed how Jesus stays with us through the chaos. As you go throughout the week, help reinforce this teaching in your child’s life by asking these kinds of questions as you have the opportunity:
Have an amazing rest of the week! Next Week | The Unforgiving Servant (Matthew 18:21-35). Be thinking about...
