Young Christians Weekend - WSYM Deadline Wednesday, March 27, 2019 We are taking a fun trip to Silver Dollar City for Young Christians' Weekend on April 6th - 7th. Thrill rides! Concerts! Awesomeness! The cost is $75+food. This seems to be one of our larger group participation trips. We need to know ASAP if you can commit to going. Who: Grades 6-12 When: April 6th - 7th Cost: $75 + food. (If you're a SDC season pass holder the cost is $25 + food, cost includes Hotel cost split) Lodging: *Update: Grand Plaza Hotel: 245 N Wildwood Dr, Branson, MO 65616 Activity Release Form. On Friday, Our group will have a get together at 5:30PM in the Black Box. We will touch base on the plans for the weekend and hang out before the conference starts. We will also talk through what we need before the session. A Meal will be provided FRIDAY NIGHT for West Side students and workers. We should wrap up around 10:30PM. Invite your friends! The more the merrier!!! They will not have to pay the registration fee, but will need to buy their own shirt if they want one. Also, anyone from West Side is welcome to purchase any of the other CT merchandise before the conference. Just make sure you purchase it from one of our merchandise workers. Don't just start grabbing stuff. Parents! We need… No, I need your help this weekend. We have a large group with many of its parents and leaders working during the conference. While at the conference your teens will be your responsibility. Please don't solely rely on us to keep up with your child. Pick up and drop off is on you, please reference the schedule at Christeens.org/schedule. I have asked some of the CCSC students who will help but they also have other responsibilities. We need your help to keep us together as a group as we float around from the breakouts and ensure students are where they need to be. We will have two - three college students as volunteer chaperones with the 8th - 12th grade students that have signed up to stay together in the Main church building. If your student drives and is not staying the night please let me know so we don't assume your student is with you and you assume they are with us. Ideally, instead of dropping off and picking up your teen, I hope you can come with them to the conference. I would love it if y'all stayed for the sessions. Not only would that help us keep an eye on our child and our group, but I think anybody can benefit from being a part of the conference. We also need more eyes on the crowd and more people to jump in and serve. Our teens are welcome to sit on the first couple rows in front of centerstage. BUT... if you are late getting to your seat we're not going to be rude to people that might happen to sit in those spots. Our group will have early access into the theater through the entrances by the Black Box so it's going to be your responsibility to get in early and get a seat. CHRISTeens Lodging We have roughly 10 students staying in the main church building Friday and Saturday night. Ashton Bussard, Dillion Collins and Rachel Goodman have volunteered to stay with the students in the building. We will use the showers in the church office. Tuesday Night: ***Update: Moving Furniture will be done Wednesday night and not tonight due to the weather. - Limited pre-assigned tasks tonight. Wednesday Night: 5:30PM - We need a few helpers to load trailers at the Fellowship Center/Cornerstone 6:30PM - Unload @ Center For the Arts (all hands, Teens and Parents) 7:00PM - Short Meeting in the Lobby 7:10PM- Finish up tasks and busy work Go home after tasks have been completed around 8:30. Thursday: - Assigned Tasks (if you aren't assigned you aren't required) Friday: 6:30 PM Meet in the Black Box for dinner and a CT meeting. *For those staying at the church building bring your gear to the Center For the Arts and place it in the Black box. We will depart from the Center as a group in the church van. *Please remember we are hosting this event and we have some tasks to complete Friday night before we depart.
